How do I get the most money selling a few pieces of jewelry? Meaning, how can I avoid getting scammed?
I've already been told that the appraised value really means nothing when it comes to selling jewelry.
The appraised value is what you would insure it for, and is usually more than the selling price.
If they're really valuable, try going through an auction house. They'll take a cut, but you'll get the highest price. Butterfields is good.
If not so valuable, check out auction sites to see what kind of prices similar pieces are getting.
