Muslims, where did your religions' symbol (Crescent Moon and Star) originate from?
I've always wondered why you guys have a moon and a star.
The crescent moon and star was actually political symbol of the Turkish Empire, from even way before the empire turned Islamic.
After becoming Islamic, the Turks continued using that symbol when they were expanding their mega empire. Westerners (and Muslims too) eventually thought that it was a symbol of Islam when it actually never was. The misconception continues until today.
