wearing a red Beaded Bracelet on right arm means you are anorexic? blue means bulimic?
a girl at school told me this and i was wondering if anorexic/bulimic people actually wear red/blue bracelets representing their eating disorder and why would someone want other people to know that they are anorexic or bulimic
It is true.
Its something someone started on a 'pro-ana' site so that anorexics can identify each other.
The idea is that if you see another girl wearing a red or blue bracelet you catch her eye and discreetly motion to your bracelet, if she does the same then you know shes anorexic. I guess its kind of like a secret code.
You ask why people would want to know that they are anorexic or bulimic; well the girls who use 'pro-ana' sites are usually proud of having an eating or don't even have an ED but want one (crazy i know) as opposed to 'real' anorexics who try to hide their illness.
Obviously this doesn't apply to all cases but that's the general idea.
